As a senior media producer and Visual Effects Artist at Subsplash, I had the incredible opportunity to be involved in the production of “The Drop” - a special event designed to encourage pastors and provide resources on ministry and technology. My role was twofold: I was responsible for creating motion visuals to create an immersive experience for attendees, as well as serving as the camera director of the live recording.
I created multiple audiovisual elements for “The Drop” – starting with a powerful opener that set the tone for the entire event. This opening piece was made entirely in 3D, and it was developed as an artistic animation, with powerful music that all worked together to help attendees feel inspired about what was about to come. I also created several short videos and animations that played throughout the event, which served as helpful visual cues for participants and further underlined certain key points.
Another important task was directing the live recording during the event. This involved leading a large team of cameramen and producers with precision and speed in order to capture every moment of “The Drop” with clarity and detail. It was my responsibility to ensure that all shots were framed expertly, cameras were positioned appropriately for each scene or speaker, and video segments played on time.
It took weeks of long days brainstorming ideas, planning out visual sequences, editing footage, selecting music, and choreographing camera movements - not to mention coordinating with different teams across departments - but when it came time for “The Drop” it all came together beautifully. The end result far exceeded our expectations – especially when we saw how engaged attendees were from start to finish. This event was a success and we achieve 2,016 registrants, 918 live views online, and 1721 on-demand views.
