In 2015, I had the opportunity to direct several advertising spots and advise the political campaign of Tomás Guanipa, a candidate for the Venezuelan National Assembly, in Caracas. Despite the challenges and intimidation efforts of the Venezuelan regime, our team was able to successfully secure a large majority of the votes, marking a victory for democracy in Venezuela.

At the time, the political and social climate in Venezuela was highly tense. The government, under the leadership of Nicolás Maduro, was known for suppressing political opposition and cracking down on free speech. Despite these challenges, our team was determined to run a fair and honest campaign, focusing on the issues that mattered most to the people of Caracas.

As the director of the campaign's advertising spots, my role was to communicate Tomás Guanipa's message to the people in an impactful and memorable way. I worked closely with a talented team of writers, designers, and producers to create a series of short videos that would connect with voters on a personal level. The spots touched on topics like the economic crisis, corruption, and crime, and highlighted Tomás Guanipa's vision for a better Venezuela.

In addition to my work on the advertising spots, I also advised the campaign on strategy and messaging. I helped the team to develop a clear and consistent message that would resonate with voters and overcome the challenges posed by the regime. We knew that we would need to be creative and resourceful in order to reach voters, given the restrictions on free speech and the pervasive censorship in the country.

Despite the difficulties, our hard work paid off. On election day, Tomás Guanipa won by a large majority of the votes, sending a powerful message to the Venezuelan regime and the world. Our campaign was a testament to the power of democracy and the courage of the people of Caracas, who were willing to stand up for their rights despite the risks.

Looking back on my time working on Tomás Guanipa's campaign, I am filled with pride and a sense of accomplishment. It was a challenging and rewarding experience, and I am grateful for the opportunity to have made a difference in the lives of the people of Venezuela.
